About the Liberal Arts mark
The official College of the Liberal Arts mark is a mark consisting of the Penn State shield and rule, along with customized typography. The strength of the college mark is its ability to better associate the college with Penn State. By associating our college with Penn State, we are recognized as a part of a well-respected, influential public research institution. Correct Usage
Consistent and proper usage of the mark is essential for ensuring the desired perception of our college. The integrity of our brand diminishes when the marks are incorrectly applied. The mark may be enlarged or reduced in size as required. The mark should only be used at a size that does not compromise quality or legibility. Be sure to properly scale the mark; do not stretch or distort the mark.
Other mark use violations:
- Do not alter or reproportion any part of the mark.
- Do not substitute any other type style for the mark.
- Do not change or reproportion the shield.
- Do not rearrange the components.
- Do not outline any part of the mark or apply any effects (drop shadow, 3-D, textures, bevel, etc.).
- Do not fill the mark with a photograph or any other pattern or texture.
- Do not turn the mark sideways or at an angle.
